Parallel Play

Hello all. Parallel Play will be returning once again to the fields of Smithville Lake.

There will be tents and tables with plenty of space for crafting. Since there are a number of Vigils scheduled, and I occasionally like to fight with my friends, there will be times that I might not be around.
Not to fear, my presence is not required for people to sit, to share craft and conversation, and to explore learning of new things.
Please drop by as you have time in your Winterfylleth schedule.

blacksmiths and blacksmithing

There will be blacksmiths and blacksmithing at Chillies! We will be on the far side of the tree line from Pottyhenge and Nobles Row, in the corner near A&S, Parallel Play, not far from Merchants and Archery.
We do not have formal classes scheduled, but we’re on site to do blacksmithing, teach folks who are interested, and support each other. Tools will be available for sharing, forge space and fuel will be available. Blacksmiths will generally be around from mid morning to late afternoon. Open forge as long as an experienced blacksmith is available. If you have some experience, come play! If you don’t have experience but want some, talk to the blacksmiths about learning! If you want to watch, come watch!
Note- minimal required safety gear in the forge area is eye protection, close toed shoes, and clothing that won’t melt. No nylon or polyester clothing, mesh topped athletic shoes or sandals in the working areas while the fires are hot.

Thistlewood Manor Soap

Thistlewood Manor Soap is offering classes on nalbinding and basic inkle weaving on a one on one basis, just come by and set up a time. Nalbinding needles available. Bring your own wool yarn or inkle loom, yarn and shuttle.

Belonging in Calontir: A DEIB Roundtable
Teacher: Halimah

What makes you feel like you belong in Calontir? What helped you find your people—and what can make that harder?

Come join an informal roundtable conversation about welcome, connection, accessibility, newcomers, mentorship, and the small things we can all do that help people find their place in our Kingdom.

You don’t need to be an officer, an expert, or even know what DEIB stands for. Come talk. Come listen. Bring your experiences.

Our first roundtable at Coronation sparked a wonderful conversation, and I’m looking forward to continuing it at Chilies.
Thank you!
Halimah
Calontir DEIB Officer

The Block Party: Block Printing 101
HE Kolfinna
Join us for a relaxed, beginner friendly introduction to block printing. We’ll cover the basics of inking or painting your block, using the right pressure, and creating satisfying impressions, with plenty of room for experimentation and the occasional “well, that’s certainly a print” moment. No carving required! Printing blocks and paint will be provided, though you’re welcome to bring your own materials. Bring your curiosity, a sense of humor, and clothes you don’t mind getting paint on or an apron. Whether you’re brand new to block printing or just looking to make something and hang out with crafty people, you’re welcome!
Come as you are, make some prints, and enjoy a low pressure creative hangout!
